Interview session with Supernatural Forces and Powers author L. S. Samuels.
L. S. Samuels’ early life was a struggle, but she was a happy child. She was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Despite impossible odds, her parents always did their best to keep the family together. She lived at a time when apartheid was rearing its ugly head and she was forced to run the gauntlet of her abusive peers. Survival was the name of the game, but through it all she emerged a stronger, more confident person. Dedicated to her family through all their trials and tribulations, she always went the extra mile to make sure they reached their potential and was always busy, whether as a teacher or later as a nurse where she had to prove her adaptability. That she got through it all was a credit to her and her family.
We spoke to L. S. Samuels about her strongly held beliefs and her insights into parenting.
As an individual, how do you comprehend with your inner you, when difficulties and tragedies happen in your life one after another?
I felt there was a war within myself, fighting against nothingness and bad luck. I had no control over it, it was invisible and ruining my life and the lives of my loved ones and family. You feel helpless and fears overcome you. You’re always scared of what will happen next – something like Job in the Bible.
As a parent how do you deal or correct the negative, unacceptable behaviour of your child?
As a parent I feel your negativity towards your child will escalate his/her negative behaviour. Be calm, though inside you very angry. Don’t raise your voice otherwise he/she will do the opposite of what you want from him/her
When ultimately things go positively in your life, how do you rejoice and give credit to?
Praise your inner you, your faith. Supernatural forces and powers are invisible. Give credit to yourself and those who participated in changing your child’s behaviour.
In your own experience how do you view what you believe in? Do you trust it? Do you get any benefit or peace of mind from believing in it?
In my own experience, I believe in invisible forces and powers. I trust 100% that they exist and benefit humankind. That gives me hope and peace of mind.

About the author
L. S. Samuels was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa in 1950. She had a tough upbringing and found life difficult through various family and personal relationships. After a spell as a teacher, she entered the nursing profession and became a registered nurse. She helped out in clinics in various capacities and also worked as a midwife.
She has experienced tragedy and pain, most notably when her daughter drowned in a swimming pool. But she has overcome adversity and says that when hardship gets you down, you should take a step back and remember that you are not alone because there are outside forces waiting to rescue you. She says there is always a way out for you to discover. You should never give up because you are a survivor.
L. S. is now retired and lives in Tunbridge Wells. She likes to spend some of her spare time at the gym.
