Donal Hanley was educated at Killina National School Carbury Co. Kildare, Scoil Mhuire Secondary School Clane. Donal has one brother Peter, two sisters Teresa and Ann, his mum Maura and his partner Priya. He wrote a poem for his local club Carbury entitled “The Famous Blue and Gold” in 2009. Philip A Hibberd was born in Harlow, Essex. At the age of eight he and his parents moved to Palmers Green, North London where Philip attended Hazelwood primary then Oakwood secondary schools. His school career was cut short at the age of 14, when his Master informed his parents there was ‘no point’ for him to continue. Badiaa Hiresh was born in Lebanon in 1964 where she eventually lived and worked, raising two daughters. Badiaa also spent time in the USA which gives her a unique international perspective on her home country. After working as an accountant and manager for the family jewelry business, Badiaa found herself in the field of education, helping to start a school. As well as writing, Badiaa is an advocate for peace, spending many years as a Peace Coordinator.

Hendrik Hoitinga was born in Leeuwarden in Friesland, the Netherlands, and emigrated to New Zealand at 10. After travelling extensively during his teens and twenties, he married his wife in Auckland, before relocating to the UK. They have two children. Hendrik worked in retail for 26 years.
