Abdirisak Mohamed Hussein
Abdirisak Mohamed Hussein was born in 1968 in Burao, Somalia. He settled in the United Kingdom as a refugee where he faced some adverse times. He lacked adequate support from the community when he became mentally ill. He was admitted into hospital with mental illness where he received outstanding support and care from the hospital professionals who assisted him to turn his life around and to become an educated and self-sufficient person. Abdirisak went on to obtain a BSc Honours Degree at the Open University. He works as a peer support worker for the National Health Service in the United Kingdom. In his spare time, he loves to exercise, read and learn. His skills include creativity, problem solving and building relationships. The Best Recovery is Abdirisak’s first book. He is single and has no children.
