Diane Valerie Burgess
Diane Valerie Burgess was born in Birmingham in 1970. She has worked at British Rail, the Birmingham Heartlands Hospital and is the lead vocalist in a Carpenters tribute band.
At twenty-seven, Diane was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis, which caused her right hand to become deformed, and in 2021, she suffered a stroke, which paralysed her left hand. Despite this, Diane is still able to write poetry, her favourite pastime. In September 2022, Diane’s life took on a new direction when married the first man she has ever loved.
