Jacob Oyerinde

Jacob Ayinla Oyerinde was born in Ogbomoso, Nigeria, in 1948, into a Muslim family. He left for Ghana in 1956 with an aunt and became a Christian when he was baptised into the First Baptist church at Tamale in 1967. He returned to Nigeria in November 1969 where he completed his secondary school education, studied accountancy (1972–74), and worked with Heinemann Publishers until August 1976 when he left for Britain to take further studies. He qualified with the Chartered Association of Certified accountants in June 1984. In 1979, he experienced spiritual renewal in London as he sought God through prayers to overcome many trials. In 1985, he was elected to the pastor's council by his local church, but he crossed over to Assemblies of God in 1991 with his family where he answered God's call in 1993 by enrolling at London Bible College to undergo a 3-year full-time ministerial training, graduating with a BA Hons degree in theology in 1996. Currently senior minister at Olivet Charismatic Assembly, Ibadan, Nigeria.
