Paul R L Williams

Paul Williams has worn many hats over his long and varied career: police civilian, police officer, Royal Marine Reservist, researcher, fundraiser, manager, farmer and writer. He spent twenty-six years with the Metropolitan Police, working in Crime Departments and Public Relations, helping curate their Crime Museum and guiding distinguished visitors through infamous exhibits. On retiring he founded a murder research service supporting crime writers, historians, and legal teams. He later managed legal practices and raised funds for a disability charity—all while tending his smallholding in Devon and writing for publications including Nordisk kriminalkronika, Real Life Crimes Magazine, Peeler, and family history journals. A Winston Churchill Fellow, Paul is married with one daughter and enjoys woodwork, writing, and life on the farm. At eighty, he says his finest skill is ‘still breathing’—though his legacy suggests a great deal more.
