Rajinder Sandhu

Rajinder Sandhu was born in Punjab, India, in 1952 and educated in Wolverhampton and London before completing teacher training in Glasgow. One of the first Asian teachers in Glasgow, he went on to become a headteacher in London within months of appointment as a deputy head.

He later led the first state-funded Sikh school in Europe, transforming it from a small independent institution into a nationally recognised academy serving 1,600 pupils from diverse backgrounds. His leadership attracted national and international media attention and significant government investment.

A passionate storyteller and educational leader, Sandhu believes that shared values build unity. 'Simar' is his first published book.
